Reckless Ben

In view

Reckless Ben is a YouTube channel operated by Ben Schneider. The channel (@RecklessBen, YouTube) publishes investigative video series examining disputed commercial transactions, institutional conduct, and extreme attractions.

The channel's stated method involves infiltration, documentation, and public disclosure. Prior subjects reported in independent press include McKamey Manor (Kotaku, 10 June 2026). ComicBook.com (23 November 2023) reports Schneider "infiltrated a cult, a restaurant owned by a hate group" without naming them.

The desk separates three layers:

  1. The channel as published work — video titles, descriptions, and stated claims as they appear on YouTube and in related platforms.
  2. The investigations — what independent opened press reports about the video series, including institutional responses and participant accounts.
  3. The legal record — criminal charges, civil litigation, restraining orders, and other docket objects. Charges are not convictions. Civil allegations are allegations.

This separation prevents mashing "YouTuber who went viral" with "investigation established X" with "charged with Y." Each layer exists independently. The catalog does not claim the investigations prove the allegations, nor that the charges prove the investigations false.

The three investigation series

The desk selected three series that currently bind in opened independent press. The selection is not a popularity ranking. View counts and subscriber figures were not opened on 2 September 2026; the desk does not invent figures.

Each series is cataloged separately:

  • Bricks & Minifigs — a disputed Star Wars Lego consignment in Oregon (2026)
  • Provo Canyon School — undercover documentation at a Utah youth treatment program (video posted 15 August 2026)
  • McKamey Manor — an extreme haunted attraction investigation (2023)

What this page does not settle

The catalog does not establish:

  • Whether any specific allegation in a Reckless Ben video is true.
  • Whether the criminal charges against Schneider will result in convictions.
  • Whether the civil litigation will be resolved in favor of any party.
  • Whether institutional responses to the videos were justified or disproportionate.

ComicBook's characterization of prior work ("infiltrated a cult, a restaurant owned by a hate group") is noted but not cataloged here. The desk does not name entities from that sentence alone.

Method

Every claim on this page and in the three investigation essays is bound to an opened primary source. The bind requirements:

  • Identity of the source
  • Extracted quote (≥12 characters copied from the opened page)
  • Unit, population, sign, interval where applicable
  • Date the page was opened by the desk

Claims not bindable to an opened primary are omitted. The desk does not use Wikipedia, CreatorDB, SocialBlade, or fan wikis. YouTube video content is primary only for printed title, channel name, description, and about-page text actually opened by the desk — not for auto-caption transcripts or invented view counts.

Sources

  • Kotaku (Lewis Parker, 10 June 2026): Prior work includes "Scientology videos; McKamey Manor investigation."
  • ComicBook.com (Russ Burlingame, 23 November 2023): "professional infiltrator"; "multi-part exposé on McKamey Manor"; "infiltrated a cult, a restaurant owned by a hate group."
