Judaism is the religion of the Jewish people. Its central claim is a covenant between God and Abraham.

The Tanakh is the Hebrew Bible. It contains the Torah, the Nevi'im (prophets), and the Ketuvim (writings).

The Torah's origin account begins in Genesis. God calls Abraham:

"Now Jehovah said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto the land that I will show thee: and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and be thou a blessing:" — Genesis 12:1-2, American Standard Version, from Bible Gateway

God speaks to Moses and gives the law:

What must not be mashed

People: Jews are an ethnoreligious group. Someone can be Jewish by birth, by conversion, or both. A person's ethnic Jewish identity is not the same as religious observance. Many Jews are secular.

Doctrine: The Tanakh makes claims. Those claims are not the same as the experience of being Jewish, which includes culture, language, food, and history.

State: The State of Israel is a political entity. The state's actions are not the actions of Judaism. The state's policies are not the Tanakh's teachings. Conflating Israel with Judaism is a category error. Theology as lived faith is not a desk verdict.
