What the record shows
Judge William Sullivan presided. Dr. Phillip Resnick, Cleveland-based forensic psychiatrist and the defense's final witness, testified. Once Resnick finished, defense attorney Kevin Reddington rested the defense's case. The prosecution began its rebuttal. Dr. Avram Mack, clinical psychiatrist and Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania, testified for the prosecution.12
Resnick testified she was "frankly psychotic" that day, described command hallucinations, and said it was "almost like she was a puppet and someone else was pulling the strings."21
Mack interviewed Clancy on 10 and 12 April 2026, diagnosed a major depressive episode, and said she retained the capacity to understand right from wrong and control her behavior. Mack testified Clancy said "Go to God" as she strangled each child.21
Defense psychologist Dr. Paul Zeizel, who first saw her in hospital 11 days after the killings at Reddington's request and called Reddington his "friend," testified she could not appreciate the wrongfulness of the act.2
Defense rested Friday 21 August 2026 after 10 witnesses. She did not testify.2
Contested
Whether she was psychotic: Resnick, Zeizel, and Dr. Donald Condie (another defense witness) testified yes.2 Mack says no.
Whether the command-hallucination account is real or retained insight is the better reading of that day.
Whether providers failed her or she "manipulated" treatment. Prosecution phrase reported by CNN.2
Whether antidepressants worsened her condition. Defense claim; not established as a finding.
Limits
No official transcript claimed. Testimony reported via press coverage.
Postpartum psychosis as a diagnosis in general is not on trial. This defendant's criminal responsibility is.
No verdict. Jury deliberating as of 27 August 2026.

Lindsay Clancy — the record and the campaign
Both sides agree Lindsay Clancy killed her three children. The live dispute is criminal responsibility. A public campaign treated the trial as a cause. An extreme register treated her admission as a frame-up. Friday 28 August ended with no verdict; the jury returns Monday 31 August.

Openings framed the dispute: the prosecution called it planned and rational; the defense called it postpartum psychosis. Patrick Clancy, the first witness, testified she was having one of her best days hours before the killings.
