What the record shows

Judge William Sullivan presided. Day 7 began around 9 a.m. and ended just after noon at Plymouth Superior Court on Wednesday 5 August. The final witness of the day was Elaine Rossi, of Kingston, the Clancy family's nanny in the summer and fall of 2022.¹

Earlier testimony Wednesday focused on the type and levels of medication found in Clancy's blood as well as the depths of the cuts on her wrists. The prosecution made the case to jurors that the self-inflicted injuries Lindsay Clancy had were not meant to kill her.¹

After the testimony of Elaine Rossi, Judge Sullivan excused the jury until tomorrow, Thursday 6 August, at 9 a.m.¹

Contested

Whether drugs in Clancy's blood were at "suicidal" levels. A toxicologist testified the levels were inconsistent with "suicidal" levels.¹

Whether the cuts on Lindsay Clancy's wrists were intended to be fatal. A physician's assistant testified about the cuts. The cuts on both wrists didn't require surgical repair. The right wrist had a few lacerations, one of which was deep enough to require stitches.¹
